The question of best holidays has been discussed for a quite a long time. Some people say that holidays with a traditional background is the best, whereas others do not agree. They consider all holidays are equally worth celebrating.

In my opinion traditional holidays and festivals are really exciting to celebrate. First of all, a holiday that has some roots has as proved its significance and meaning throughout time. For example, a holiday called Maslenica has been celebrated for hundreds of years and people always do it with great pleasure. Secondly, traditional festivals have special connotation that makes people remember their history. For example, IvanaKupala festival is celebrated since time immemorial and reminds Russians of an ancient tradition of honoring summer solstice. It unites them with each other and nature and gives those who celebrate it a hope that their wishes will be granted.

At the same time there are people who say that it does not matter which holiday to celebrate. The most important thing is when people come together and communicate with each other.

I do not agree with the opinion mentioned above. It is more pleasant to discuss some important historical events than just talk. The more traditional background a holiday has the more interesting facts people can talk about.

In conclusion, I would like to say there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight holidays and festivals with particular customs seem to be equal to others without, but in actual fact holidays with traditions are much more pleasant to celebrate. Thus, I strongly believe the best holidays and festivals are those with specific traditions for celebrating.
