Comment on the following statement: |
Many students go on school trips. Some people say they are interesting and educational. Other people say that they are a waste of time and children should only learn in the classroom. |
|
What is your opinion? Do you agree with this statement? |
Some people say that going on school trips is a waste of time and money, whereas others say that they are quite educational and useful.
I think that going on a school trip is a very good experience that broadens one's mind. First of all, there is a saying, “ It is better to see once than hear a hundred times”. When a person sees something with their own eyes they memorize information much better. Second, going on school trips develops traveling skills like learning a route, preparing for it and attentiveness. Traveling is good for experiencing other countries, to compare them with their own country and to get to know it better. School trips also make friendships between classmates stronger.
Some other people say everything can be learned by books at school. School boys and girls should not waste money and time for traveling.
I do not agree with this opinion. Students learn a lot of things by books anyway, but I am sure that some very important events are better to learn on school trips. Pupils do not go on trips often, just a few times a year. So, it will not do any harm to their regular studying.
In conclusion, I would like to say that there are a lot of ways to study different information and traveling is not the least one on this list. Learning many new things on school trips is also a lot of fun. Thus, I strongly believe that school trips are a great experience for children to have. or In conclusion, I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight going on school trips might seem as a big waste of time and money but in actual fact it is really educational and gives students a big amount of experience. Thus, I strongly believe that school trips are worth doing. |
