Some people say that watching television is interesting and entertaining, whereas others say that it is not safe.

I think that watching television is educational and interesting. First of all, good shows teach one how to think and analyze information. Second, if people watch, say, The Discovery Channel they learn a lot of interesting things about animals. Television is also a part of modern life and a big source of information.

Some other people say that television brainwashes people and one can even harm their eye sight, if they watch it a lot.

I do not agree with this opinion. It can indeed be harmful for one's consciousness, if people watch stupid programs with low-level ideas.  One should obtain information from different sources in order to not get brainwashed. Surely, after watching television longer than one hour one should do some eye-gymnastics.

In conclusion, I would like to say that anything can be harmful if one misuses it and television is no exception. Watching television can expand people's knowledge and analytical abilities or it can brainwash them. Yet, I still prefer to watch television and use it to expand knowledge about the world.

In conclusion, I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight,   watching television can harm one’s eye-sight and brainwash people. However, people can do eye-exercises and watch good TV programs. Thus, I still prefer to watch TV and learn more about the world.
