The question of protection of environment has been discussed for a very long time. Some people say that it is responsibility of the government, whereas others do not agree. They believe that it is every person’s responsibility.

In my opinion it is mainly government’s job to protect nature. First of all, protection of the environment requires substantial amount of money and labor force to manage the protection properly. For example, in order to build a garbage utilization plant one should spend a lot of money and government has to find it. Secondly, government can control pollution violations by setting some special laws that restrict companies to produce harmful products. For instance, if a plant makes something that poisons nature, it will be forced to pay a big fine.

At the same time there are people who claim that if everyone contributes something in environment protection, the nature will benefit from it. Even stopping to litter a person will help to improve bad ecological situation.

I do not agree with the statement mentioned above. It is good to stop littering but it is not going to save the nature. The biggest enemies of the environment are waste from chemical plants and factories, air pollution caused by transport. Only government has enough power to restrict them.

In conclusion, I would like to say there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight it is people’s responsibilities to save the nature, but in actual fact, it is government’s duty. Thus, I strongly believe that it is the government’s responsibility to protect the environment.
