The problem of cities’ pollution has been discussed for a very long time. Some people believe that electric transport is the most effective and cheapest way to solve the air pollution problem in cities, whereas others do not agree. They consider there are a lot of other solutions to this issue that are more efficient.

In my opinion, electric transport is a good way to solve the air pollution problem in cities. First of all, cars produce a lot of fumes that pollute the air. For example, there are cities like Beijing where people can hardly breath because of car exhausts. Secondly, cars that run on electricity does not contaminate air at all. For instance, one can feel the difference when he or she goes after a gas bus or electric vehicle.

However, there are people who have another point of view. They claim that petrol engines are becoming more and more ecologically friendly. Nowadays, they almost do not pollute environment. So there is no need in using expansive electric means of transportations.

I do not agree with the statement above. To produce a relatively ecologically friendly engine costs a lot. Such engines soon turn into ecologically not friendly, if bad quality petrol is used, which nowadays is often in Russia.

In conclusion I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight, improving diesel or patrol engines seems to be the right solution of city pollution problems, but in actual fact it will be more efficient and cheaper to start using eclectic transport. Thus, I strongly believe that electric transport is the key for solution for air pollution in cities.
