1. Population and capital.

9. Geographical location.

Iraq is located in Western Asia. It borders Turkey to the north, Iran to the east, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to the south, Jordan to the west, and Syria to the northwest. In the southeast, Iraq has a short coastline on the Persian Gulf.
