1. Population and capital.

The Vietnam War was one of the most important periods in the country's modern history. After the war ended in 1975, North and South Vietnam were united into a single country.

7. Rice fields.

Rice plays a major role in the life and economy of Vietnam. The country is famous for its green rice terraces and is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of rice.

8. Currency.

The national currency of Vietnam is the Vietnamese dong.

9. Shape of the country.

Vietnam has an unusual elongated S-shaped form. The country stretches for more than 1,600 kilometers from north to south along the coast of the South China Sea and shares borders with China, Laos, and Cambodia.
