Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year. It is celebrated in April and is famous for large water fights in the streets.

6. Muay Thai.

Muay Thai is a traditional martial art and combat sport that originated in Thailand. It is also called Thai boxing.

7. Currency.

The currency of Thailand is the Thai baht.

8. Durian.

Durian is Thailand’s main national fruit, a source of pride, and an important part of the economy, with exports worth billions. Because of its strong smell, people either love it or ban it from public places throughout the country.

9. Elephants.

Elephants hold an important place in Thai culture and are considered sacred animals. Images and statues of elephants can often be seen in Thai temples.
