1. Population and capital.

The Philippines is a country in Southeast Asia with a population of about 117 million people. The capital of the country is Manila, while the largest city is Quezon City.

2. Religion.

The main religion in the Philippines is Christianity. Most of the population is Catholic, making the Philippines one of the largest Catholic countries in the world. A significant Muslim population also lives in the south of the country.

3. Manila.

Manila is the capital of the Philippines and one of the country's most important economic and cultural centers. The city is located on the island of Luzon and is known for the historic district of Intramuros, built during the period of Spanish colonial rule.

4. Palawan Island.

Palawan is one of the most famous islands in the Philippines. It is known for its tropical beaches, limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and rich marine life.

5. Archipelago.

The Philippines is a vast archipelago consisting of more than 7,600 islands. The three main island groups are Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

6. Spanish heritage.

The Philippines was under Spanish rule for more than 300 years. Spanish influence can still be seen in the country's culture, religion, architecture, festivals, names, and surnames.

7. Banaue Rice Terraces.

The Banaue Rice Terraces are one of the most famous attractions in the Philippines. They were created on the mountain slopes of Luzon and are an outstanding example of traditional agriculture.

8. Currency.

The national currency of the Philippines is the Philippine peso.

9. Geographical location.

The Philippines is located in the western Pacific Ocean, between the South China Sea and the Philippine Sea. The country has no land borders and lies east of Vietnam, north of Indonesia, and south of Taiwan.
