TAJIKISTAN

1. Population and capital.

Tajikistan is a country in Central Asia with a population of about 10.8 million people. The capital of the country is Dushanbe. The largest city in Tajikistan by population is Dushanbe.

2. Religion.

The most widespread religion in Tajikistan is Islam. Most Muslims in the country are Sunni. There is also an Ismaili Shia Muslim community, mainly in the eastern part of the country.

3. Dushanbe.

Dushanbe is the capital of Tajikistan and the country's main political, economic, and cultural center. It is home to major government institutions, universities, museums, and cultural centers.

4. Pamir Mountains.

The Pamir Mountains are one of the most famous natural attractions in Tajikistan. They are located mainly in the eastern part of the country and include some of the highest peaks in Central Asia. The Pamirs are often called the "Roof of the World."

5. Panj River.

The Panj is one of the most important rivers in Tajikistan. It forms a large part of the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan and is one of the main headwaters of the Amu Darya.

6. Samanid Empire.

In the 9th and 10th centuries, the Samanid Empire was one of the most important states in Central Asia. The Samanid period played an important role in the development of Persian culture, science, and literature and has great historical significance for Tajikistan.

7. Traditional culture.

For many centuries, traditional culture has been an important part of Tajik life. Traditional music, dance, crafts, national clothing, and hospitality continue to play an important role in the culture and way of life of the Tajik people.

8. Currency.

The national currency of Tajikistan is the somoni.

9. Geographical location.

Tajikistan is located in Central Asia and has no access to the sea. The country borders four countries — Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
