You have 20 min to do this task. You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen friend Georgia, who writes: |
...Do your parents criticise you when you don't do well at school? Mine seem to put me under so much pressure. What can I do? Do you think I should tell them that it's making me unhappy? How can I explain to my parents how I feel? I try my best at school, but I just never seem to get top marks. Should I speak to a teacher? Write back soon with your advice. Love, Georgia |

Dear Georgia,
Thank you very much for your letter. It’s so nice to get it.
My parents criticize me quite often because of my marks at school as well. I think that you should tell your parents that you are trying your best but the results are not excellent yet.
If I were you, I would also talk to your teacher and ask about the ways to improve your marks. I hope she will help you.
I am sorry to hear that you are under pressure by your parents.
How exactly do your parents pressure you? Does your teacher treat you objectively? Are there a lot of people with bad marks in your class?
I have to help my mom now. I will write you later.
Take care,
Slava
