1. Population and capital.

Mongolia is a country in East Asia with a population of about 3.5 million people. The capital of the country is Ulaanbaatar. The largest city in Mongolia by population is Ulaanbaatar.

2. Religion.

The most widespread religion in Mongolia is Tibetan Buddhism. Traditional shamanic beliefs are also practiced in the country, while part of the population does not identify with any religion.

3. Ulaanbaatar.

Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia and the country's largest political, economic, and cultural center. It is home to the main government institutions, major enterprises, universities, museums, and cultural centers.

4. Gobi Desert.

The Gobi Desert is one of Mongolia's most famous natural landmarks. It covers a significant part of the south of the country and also extends into China. The Gobi is known for its desert landscapes, rare animals, and discoveries of dinosaur remains.

5. Orkhon River.

The Orkhon is one of the largest and the longest river in Mongolia. It is about 1124 kilometers long. The Orkhon River Valley has great historical and cultural significance and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

6. Mongol Empire.

In 1206, Genghis Khan united the Mongol tribes and founded the Mongol Empire. In the 13th century, it became the largest contiguous land empire in history and covered vast territories in Asia and Europe.

7. Nomadic culture.

For many centuries, nomadic culture was an important part of Mongolian life. Traditional livestock herding, horseback riding, and living in yurts still play an important role in the culture and way of life of many people in the country.

8. Currency.

The national currency of Mongolia is the tögrög.

9. Geographical location.

Mongolia is located in East Asia and is a landlocked country. It shares borders with only two countries — Russia and China.
