Nicole Mary Kidman is an Australian-American actress and producer. She was born on the 20th of June 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S. Both her parents, Anthony David Kidman and Janelle Anne McNeil, were born in Australia. She has a younger sister, Antonia Kidman, who is a journalist and TV presenter.

When Nicole was 4 years old her family went to Australia. She danced and participated (1) in the Australian Theater for Youth.

Nicole began her acting career in Australia when she was 15, starring in a film called "Bush Christmas" (1983). Kidman's breakthrough (2) roles started when a movie called "Bangkok Hilton" (1989) came out (3). She played the role of an Australian tourist, sentenced (4) to death in Thailand on a false accusation (5) of drug transporting. The acting of the young actress impressed not only the movie's audiences, but also critics. The rights to show this movie were bought by many countries, including the USSR.

After the success of the thriller "Dead Calm" she was invited to Hollywood where she stared in the movie called "Days of Thunder" (1990) (6) with her future husband Tom Cruise.

She received an award (7) for playing a courtesan (9) in the musical called "Moulin Rouge!" (2001). This musical was a real breakthrough for Kidman.

The actress married Tom Cruise in 1990. They adopted two children, Isabella Jane and Connor Anthony. In 2001 they divorced.

In 2006 Nicole married the singer Keith Urban. They have two daughters, Sanday Rose Kidman-Urban and Faith Margaret Kidman-Urban.
