Mark Elliot Zuckerberg is an American technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is known for co-founding and leading Facebook as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Mark was born on May 14, 1984 in the city of White Plains, New York, a few kilometers north of New York City, into a Jewish family. His father, Edward Zuckerberg, is a dentist. His mother, Karen Zuckerberg, is a psychiatrist. He was the second child and the only boy of 4 children in his family.

At school Mark liked computer programming and developed a network version of the game "Risk".

Mark Zuckerberg did not complete his formal university education. In 2002 he entered Harvard University, where he studied until 2004 at the Faculty of Psychology. At the same time he attended IT courses.

Mark listed his sphere of interests as "C, C ++, Java, Visual Basic, VB Script, JavaScript, PHP and ASP". Many times he described himself as a hacker by nature.

Together with Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskowitz, he started to create a social network called Facebook. 

In 2010 Time magazine named Zuckerberg, “The Man of the Year”.

On December 8, 2010, Mark Zuckerberg announced that he joined the "The Giving Pledge", a philanthropic team of billionaires which includes Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.

Owning 24% of Facebook’s stock made Mark Zuckerberg the youngest billionaire in history.

On October 2, 2012 Mark Zuckerberg gave an open lecture about himself and the history of his Facebook company before the students of Moscow State University.

Mark is a deuteranope, a man who can not distinguish between some colors.

According to the men's magazine GQ, Mark is considered the most tasteless dressed person in the Silicon Valley, but the most popular one among his company's employees.

Being a billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg drives a Volkswagen Golf GTI.

On May 19, 2012 Mark Zuckerberg married his long-time friend Priscilla Chan. They have two children.
