You will have to start speaking in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes (12–15 sentences). In your talk remember to speak about:

● what/who is in the photo
● what is happening
● why you keep the photo in your album
● why you decided to show the picture to your friend

 

You have to talk continuously, starting with: “I’ve chosen photo number …”

I keep this photo in my album because aunt Liza looks happy and cute in it.

I've decided to show you this picture because you wanted to learn to draw and aunt Liza can help you. So I thought you might take some of her lessons.

I found two pictures in my album and I am going to compare and contrast them.

 

1. give a brief description of the photos (action, location)

 

In both pictures you can see families celebrating something. In the first picture you can see two women, a baby and a man. In the second picture we can see parents kissing their son.

 

2. say what the pictures have in common

 

These pictures have a few things in common. First of all, these are both families. Second, both families are celebrating something. People are all happy in both pictures.

 

3. say in what way the pictures are different

 

There are some differences there as well. First, in the first picture there are 4 people. In the second one, there are only 3 people. In the first picture they are celebrating New Year or Christmas. In the second one it looks like a birthday party.

 

4. say which kind of life you’d prefer

 

Personally, I like New Year celebration more.

 

5. explain why

 

New Year celebration is considered to be the main celebration in Russia. People have a lot of hopes and expectations for the next year. They make a wish when the clock strikes 12. I like the vibe of this event.
