Task 2

You are going to take part in a telephone survey. You have to answer the six questions. Give full answers to the questions. Remember that you have 40 seconds to answer each question.

Electronic assistant: Hello! It’s the electronic assistant of the Dolphin Sports Club. We kindly ask you to take part in our survey. We need to find out how people feel about doing sports in our region. Please answer six questions. The survey is anonymous – you don’t have to give your name. So, let’s get started.

Electronic assistant: What transport do you use to get to your school?
Student: Usually, I use the metro. It’s the fastest way to get to my school. Sometimes I use a bus but not so often.

Electronic assistant: What does your school building look like?

Student: As for my school building, it looks like an ordinary building. It’s an average 4 story building. It’s painted with a pinkish color. There is a smaller building for the primary school next to the high school one.

Electronic assistant: What sport facilities does your school offer to the students?
Student: Well, our school offers different sports facilities. You can play football or basketball there. The gym is well equipped with different fitness machines, so that one could do whatever he needs, like weightlifting or different cardio exercises.

Electronic assistant: What foreign languages can the students learn at your school?
Student: As a rule, we all learn English. It’s obligatory. But those who want to learn other languages, like German, French and Spanish, can have extra lessons. It depends on how many students want to learn a language. If the number of students is large enough, the Foreign Language Department of our school organizes the lessons as an elective course.

Electronic assistant: What clothes do you have to wear at school?
Student: As for clothes, students in our school do not have strict rules. We don’t have one uniform for every student in the school like many other schools. We wear clothes that are comfortable for us. Of course, it can’t be too bright or challenging that would distract others from the learning process.

Electronic assistant: What would you change in your school if you were the principal?

Student: I think I would change the schedule of our lessons. I would make more say, mathematics lessons every day. Two subjects a day, no more. The students would have to learn only two or three subjects during the quarter and then move to other subjects, like biology, physics etc. I don’t like the idea of 5 different subject a day. It’s like dividing your attention between too many activities.

You have to talk continuously.
