Introduction
The lecture is about exotic species and the ecological connection they have to the environment.
Examples
The professor defines exotic species as organisms that have been transported to a new location, intentionally or accidentally. Usually they damage the ecosystem. The professor gives two examples to show the effect of these species. The first example is about acacia plants. It was planted for good reasons, durability, fast growth and were popular. But it turned out that its grows caused death to other species. Acacia plants created shades in which other plants couldn’t grow and died. The second example is western-european salt grass. Its root system took all the water from the ground near water sources and it caused the death of other plants.
Conclusion
That’s how the professor decribes exotic species and their influence on the environment.
