Some people think that the Internet is the greatest achievement of mankind, whereas others do not agree. They consider it the most harmful invention ever. 

In my opinion, the Internet can be called the greatest invention of the past century. First of all, it gives instant assess to virtually any public information on earth. For example, if a person wants to know the temperature of the Aegean Sea now, he or she can get it in a few seconds. Secondly, the Internet creates a great opportunity for communication. For instance, people can communicate with their friends by Skype, on their phone, or by computer app who might be many kilometers away and feel as if they were in the same room. 

At the same time there are people who think that the Internet is harmful for society. They believe that it kills communication between people and pushes people into living in a virtual world. 

I do not agree with the opinion mentioned above. Everything can be harmful if people misuse it and the Internet is no exception. Communication via Internet feels as real as a face-to-face discussion.

In conclusion, I would like to say there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight the Internet might seem harmful for society, but in actual fact it is the greatest achievement society possesses. Thus, I strongly believe that the Internet has moved the world to a more advanced level of society.
