What is more important for success in life - hard work or luck?

Nowadays there are a lot of people who want to be rich and successful in life without putting in all the hard work that it actually takes to succeed. They are waiting for luck to come. Whereas others say that nothing comes automatically. Hard work is really required.

I believe if you want to be a success in your endeavors you must make your own luck by putting in lots of hard work and determination in achieving your goals and overcoming whatever hurdles life throws at you. You should work hard if you want to be successful. People today want success handed to them on a plate and do not want to put in the effort. I think that if you want to be successful in business you need to understand the economics, politics and the structure of the market place that you are in. Only through hard work and learning will you achieve success.

Others might say that they would prefer luck as this is the key element to success. If you are lucky, you will be successful and rich without having to put in all the effort.

In my opinion it’s just a popular belief that luck is the way to achieve success. People see some cases when it happens. It makes them believe that it’s important to be in the right place at the right time and it's not what you know but who you know, which definitely doesn’t work statistically.

In conclusion I would like to say that you make your own luck in life through hard work and determination in achieving your goals. Like one famous musician said, “I practiced for 12 hours a day for 12 years before people called me a genius.”
