Some people think that it is impossible to get a well-paid job if a person does not have a high education, whereas others do not agree. They believe that well-paid job and education are not positively related.

In my opinionone should have a higher education to get a well-paying job. First of all, it is now a requirement of a lot of companies. For example, a person has to fill in an employment form before being interviewed and hired. This form contains a question about higher education and a negative answer makes the possibility of getting a job extremely low.  Secondly, having a higher education characterizes a person in a particular way. For instance, to get a diploma one should go through a lot of academic difficulties and learn enough information about different things related to his or her specialty.

At the same timethere are people who say that Steve Jobs did not have higher education, nevertheless he became extremely rich.

I do not agree with the opinion mentioned above. Steve Jobs or Bill Geist are more exceptions than the rule. They knew what they wanted to do in college and did it really well, so they did not need to finish their higher education.

In conclusionI would like to say there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight, a well-paid job seems possible without a higher education but in actual fact it is really difficult to get such a job without graduating from college or university. Thus, I strongly believe that jobs that pay well require a good higher education in college.
