Thomas Cruise Mapother IV is an American actor and producer. Cruise was born on July 3, 1962  in Syracuse, New York. Tom is the son of Mary Lee, a special education teacher, and Thomas Cruise Mapother III, an electrical engineer, both originally from Louisville, Kentucky. Tom is the third child in the family, he also has three sisters.

In search of work Tom’s family often moved, which became one of the reasons for the difficult childhood of the actor. When Tom was 12 years old, his parents divorced. By the age of 14, he had changed 15 schools in the US and Canada. Finally, Tom's family settled (1) in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, where the future actor graduated from high school. In childhood, he had improperly (2) growing teeth and he had dyslexia.

His first breakthrough role, which brought him fame was in the film "Risky Business" (1983).

Cruise married actress Nicole Kidman who he stared with in "Days of Thunder" in 1990. They registered their relationship on Christmas Eve of the same year. They played together in 3 films: "Days of Thunder" (1990), "Far and Away" (1992) and "Eyes Wide Shut" (1999).

In 1994, Cruise starred along with Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas and Christian Slater in the film “Interview with the Vampire”, a gothic drama/horror film.

Tom starred in the romantic thriller "Vanilla Sky" (2001) with Cameron Diaz and Penélope Cruz. During the filming he started the relationship (3) with Penelopa that caused brake up with Kidman.

Cruise is a fan of motorsport. He can often be seen in race cars and sports motorcycles, both in movies and in life.

In June 2004, before shooting the film "Mission Impossible 3", the actor took a special course in driving motorcycles.

Cruise has been married three times and has three children (two adopted and one biological). All his children live with their moms who rejected to bring them up (4) by Scientological rules but raise (5) them in catholic tradition.
