Pedro Almodóvar Caballero is a Spanish filmmaker, film producer and screenwriter. He was born on September 25, 1949, in Calzada de Calatrava, Ciudad Real, Spain.

At the age of eight, he moved with his family to Extremadura, where he first attended the Salesian and then Franciscan schools.

When Pedro was 16, alone, without the family and money, he moved to Madrid. He worked in many jobs while he became a member of the theatrical group "Los Goliardos" and played small roles in a professional theater.
