Personally, I think that it’s better to study away from home.

Example 1

First of all, studying away gives one an opportunity to create a new life and prepares students for becoming fully independent. The first year of college I studied near home but then I decided to move to the dormitory that was far away from home. I saved a lot of time on the road to the college and back and started feeling differently. I felt more grown up and more responsible as well.

Example 2

Second, my friend Kolya studied near home. His parents took good care of him so he chose a university near his house. He played computer games a lot and was kicked out of it. Then he entered another university in another city and now everything is going well.

Conclusion

So that’s why I think that studying away is better.
