Scarlett Ingrid Johansson is an American actress and singer. 

Scarlett was born on November 22, 1984 in New York. Her father is Karsten Johansson, an architect from Denmark, the son of a Danish writer Ejner Johansson. Her mother, Melanie Sloan comes from a Jewish family with Polish and Russian backgrounds. Scarlett has an older brother Adrian, older sister, Vanessa and twin brother Hunter as well as paternal half-brother, Christian.

At the age of nine Scarlet made her film debut in the movie "North", where she played with young Elijah Wood.

In 1996, Scarlett played her first major role in the film "Manny and Lo", for which she won the Independent Spirit Awards nomination as the best female performer.

Her parents divorced when she was 13. It strongly influenced the young Scarlett. She had to live in two cities - in New York, where her father lived, and in Los Angeles where her mother lived.

In New York, Scarlett attended Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She also was particularly fond of musical theater and “jazz hands”. She took lessons in tap dance.

Scarlett’s role in the film “The Horse Whisperer”, 1998 brought her wide recognition.

Scarlet got high praise for her breakout role in “Ghost World”, 2001.

Her role of Charlotte in the film, " Lost in Translation", 2003, made Johansson well known on both sides of the Atlantic.

She stared in the film “Scoop”, 2006, by Woody Allen where Scarlett played the comedic role of an American student who had a romance with an English aristocrat which stared Hugh Jackman.

Scarlet’s third collaboration with Woody Allen was in the romantic comedy-drama “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”, 2008, which was filmed in Spain and became one of Allen's most profitable movies. Johansson played there with Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz.

May 20, 2008 Johansson debuted as a vocalist in her first album “Anywhere I Lay My Head”.

Johansson played an agent Natasha Romanova in the film "Iron Man 2", 2010, and the film "The Avengers", 2012.

In 2008 Johansson married Ryan Reynolds in the Tofino mountain resort near Vancouver. In 2010, they divorced. On October 1, 2014, Scarlett married Romain Doriac. In 2014 they had a daughter. In 2016, they divorced.
